Dear Friends and Colleagues,

A very Happy, Healthy, and Successful New Year to all of you!

2020 is off to a busy start for Universal, as we continue to expand our global FBO and Ground Services network – this time in Istanbul, Turkey!

In partnership with Ferda Yildiz and Kaan Air locally, Universal Aviation Turkey is officially open and ready to support your missions in Istanbul and any other airport throughout the country.

Turkey, and Istanbul in particular, is a rapidly growing business aviation market with good infrastructure and potential for growth, but we heard from you that it continues to be a challenging destination due to service levels, parking availability and operating restrictions, especially during peak season.

With our own highly experienced team based at Ataturk Airport (LTBA), we’ll be able to provide you with faster response times, higher quality service on the ground, more transparency in pricing and quicker parking confirmations, reducing your risk and stress when operating to this growing business aviation market.

Choose your airport wisely when operating to Turkey

Choosing the right handler is key for a successful mission in Turkey, but choosing the right airport is just as critical.

With the opening of the new Istanbul Airport (LTFM) in 2019, all commercial airline traffic is now diverted from LTBA.

What does that mean for you? It makes LTBA the hands-down best option for bizav ops. With no commercial traffic, arrivals, departure, and taxi times are significantly faster. LTBA is also much more conveniently located to Istanbul’s city center, and provides greater operational flexibility in terms of both parking, slots, scheduled maintenance options, and customer preference to the airport’s general aviation terminal.

You can read our excellent Istanbul Destination Guide blog by our UA Turkey Operations Manager, Gokmen Sendag, for more details on Istanbul ops.

Along with our Partner, Ferda Yildiz and Kaan Air, we are also able to offer helicopter transport from plane side to many destinations in town (and vice versa of course), or point to point for business meetings, avoiding the very challenging Istanbul traffic.

In the meantime, please let me know if you have an upcoming trip to Turkey!

2020 is going to be an exciting year of growth for Universal, as we continue to grow our Universal Aviation Network, which now extends to 18 locations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region; 17 locations in the Asia-Pacific region; and 19 in Latin America, for a total of

50+ locations, across 25+ countries Worlwide!

Please join me in welcoming Kaan Air and the Yildiz family, and our new team in Turkey, to the Universal Family!

Wishing you and your families much happiness, health, and successful missions in 2020!

Warmest regards,

Greg
