Dalaman, located on Türkiye’s scenic southwestern coast, is a gateway to some of the country’s most beautiful beach resorts, including Sarigerme, Fethiye, and Göcek. Known for its turquoise bays, luxury resorts, and relaxed seaside towns, Dalaman draws significant private jet traffic—especially between May and November, with the peak season falling between June and August. If you’re planning a business aviation trip to the Turkish Riviera and Dalaman, here’s what you need to know about operating into Dalaman Airport (LTBS).

Here’s what you need to know:

Dalaman Airport (LTBS)

Dalaman Airport (LTBS) is the sole civil airport serving the region and the exclusive option for business aviation traffic. Located just 5 kilometers from the Dalaman city center, the airport is open 24/7 with no curfews, making it operationally flexible year-round.

Slot Coordination & Parking

LTBS is a slot-coordinated airport, and slots are required for all aircraft. Slot Coordination will allocate parking slots for requested times only if available, so early planning is essential. The airport operates under SMA (Slot Movement Advice) coordination year-round, and it is compulsory to advise Slot Coordination of all operations, including schedule changes and delays.

Please note the following key points:

  • Once an aircraft departs from its origin airport, arrival slots cannot be changed.

  • Confirmed slot times are valid for +/- 20 minutes.

  • If the flight’s enroute time is six hours or more, the arrival slot validity remains +/- 20 minutes.

Short-term parking (2–3 days) is generally available. For longer stays, the maximum parking duration allowed is 1 week and 2 days. Universal Aviation Türkiye can coordinate with airport authorities in advance (ideally one week prior) to secure extended parking or obtain special permissions during peak periods.

General Aviation Terminal (GAT)

Use of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) is mandatory at this airport. A GAT usage fee is charged per person, per use, for both international and domestic flights.

Note: A special permit is required for all flights carrying more than 21 passengers to use the GAT.

Universal Aviation Türkiye provides Representation, Supervision, and Management services on-site at the GAT to ensure a seamless experience from arrival to departure.

Handling

LTBS has several ground handling options, including Universal Aviation Türkiye.

Equipment

All standard ground handling services are available. However, towbars and pushback vehicles are not provided, so operators should plan accordingly based on aircraft type and handling needs.

Hotels

Recommended hotels for crew and passengers near Dalaman and Sarigerme include:

  • Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Spa
  • TUI BLUE Seno
  • TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park
  • TUI MAGIC LIFE Sarigerme
  • Rixos Premium Göcek

Ground Transportation

For VIP travelers, the preferred option is a pre-arranged chauffeured vehicle, such as a Mercedes E/S-Class or VIP minivan.

  • Taxis are available on request.
  • Uber and metro services are not available in the region.

Fuel Availability

Jet A-1 fuel is available 24/7 at LTBS. However, operators may experience fueling delays during peak summer months due to increased ground traffic. It is strongly advised to submit a Fuel Release (F/R) request in advance through Universal Aviation Türkiye to avoid delays and secure fueling slots.

Inflight Catering

Inflight catering is available through authorized local providers.

  • Storage at the airport is not permitted due to health regulations.
  • Orders should be placed at least 24 hours in advance, with revisions allowed up to 12 hours prior to departure.

Customs and Immigration

Upon arrival, Universal Aviation Türkiye staff greet passengers and escort them directly to the General Aviation Terminal for expedited CIQ processing.

  • The entire process—from aircraft arrival to ground transport departure—typically takes 20 minutes.
  • Staff remain in contact with ground transportation to ensure a smooth pickup experience.

Security

LTBS provides robust 24/7 airport security, including fencing, police presence, and CCTV surveillance.

  • Armed private security is not permitted airside.
  • Unarmed third-party aircraft security can be arranged upon request.

Peak Season & High-Traffic Periods

Dalaman’s high season runs from May through November, with the busiest period between June and August. Expect increased activity from:

  • European summer charter flights
  • Domestic holiday traffic
  • Private jet arrivals

Early planning is strongly recommended for operations during this period.

Weather Considerations

Dalaman has a Mediterranean climate characterized by:

  • Hot, dry summers with temperatures often exceeding 35°C (95°F) and occasional strong afternoon winds
  • Mild, wetter winters, with rain and storms possible but rare freezing conditions

Weather rarely disrupts operations, but heat may affect aircraft performance in peak summer months.

Conclusion

Dalaman Airport (LTBS) is well-positioned to serve the private aviation needs of Türkiye’s southern coastal region. With 24/7 operations, a dedicated GA terminal, and experienced ground support, it offers an efficient and secure experience for business aviation operators. Planning ahead—especially during the summer high season—ensures smoother coordination, fueling, and parking.

Universal Aviation Türkiye has a presence on-site at LTBS, providing full-service local support to operators. From slot coordination and fueling to handling and CIQ facilitation, our team is ready to assist your next mission to Dalaman.
