Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Throughout the years, our industry has proven its strength and compassion by coming together in times of need—whether responding to tsunamis, earthquakes, or other humanitarian crises. Today, that need has again struck closer to home.

It’s been heartbreaking to see the devastating impact of the wildfires sweeping through the Los Angeles area, affecting neighborhoods many in our industry know well.

Unfortunately, some of our business aviation colleagues have been directly affected, with several of them losing their homes.

In response, Universal Weather and Aviation has launched a GoFundMe to provide immediate relief to those affected. To kickstart this effort, Universal has contributed $20,000!

We are partnering with the Southern California Business Aviation Association (SCAA) to ensure that every dollar raised goes directly to those in need, and our own Kristin Gilliam, a Universal team member, and SCAA board member, will be leading these efforts on our behalf.

C. Gregory Evans is Chairman of the Board for Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. and a vocal and active advocate for business aviation. Mr. Evans has been with Universal since 1978 and currently serves as a member of the National Business Aviation Association’s Associate Member Advisory Council. Prior to serving as Chairman, Mr. Evans served as flight supervisor for two years and Vice President, Operations Officer for 18 years. Mr. Evans earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. He is also extremely active in the community, supporting organizations such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and donating the usage of Universal’s business jet to assist non-profit organizations, including the Corporate Angel Network, Impact a Hero and Operation Mend.
