Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are extremely excited to share that Universal Aviation Spain will develop Madrid’s first premium general aviation hangar at Barajas Airport (LEMD).

This project addresses many of the operational challenges you’ve been facing and is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026.

Your feedback shaped every aspect of this facility.

This 5,000 m² (50,000 sqft) hangar and 10,000 m² (100,000 sqft) of apron area on Ramp 7 will provide what you’ve been asking for:

  • Guaranteed parking during high-traffic events
  • Enhanced privacy and security
  • Protection from the weather
    • Sand from Sahara Winds
    • Freezing Temps (Winter)
    • High Temps (Summer)
  • Quick access to Madrid’s business district
  • Dedicated crew spaces and flight planning areas
  • Flexible aircraft storage solutions

Let us know as soon as possible about your interest in securing space!

Architectural renderings of Universal Aviation Spain’s new premium general aviation hangar at Madrid-Barajas Airport, featuring a modern white structure with glass panels and dedicated aircraft parking areas. The 5,000m² facility is set to open in 2026.

The timing is particularly significant as Madrid prepares to host Formula One races from 2026-2035, and we work to ensure you have the infrastructure and support needed well ahead of these major events.

This development is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening our Spanish network supporting Your Broader Spanish Operations.

In 2023, we expanded to 10 locations across Spain by acquiring Andalucia Aviation’s seven handling offices. This growth has already helped many of you navigate record-setting traffic volumes in popular destinations like Malaga, Sevilla, and Menorca.

Looking Ahead Together-

While construction begins this year, we are focused on several priorities:

  • Gathering your input on specific features you’d like to see included
  • Supporting your current Madrid operations through our existing facilities
  • Developing comprehensive solutions for major events during the construction period

This project represents more than just a new facility – it reflects our ongoing dialogue with you, our partners in the business aviation community. Your continued feedback will be essential as we move forward.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out – whether about this project or any other operational needs you see in your global missions. Your insights help us better understand where and how we can support you.

Wishing you smooth flights and continued success in 2025!

Greg
