Focused on providing faster turn times and better service at Grand Cayman

Houston (June 18, 2024) – Universal Aviation announced that Cayman Dispatch Services (CDS) is now officially operational as a Universal Aviation Certified location, providing business aviation operators an alternate and efficient ground handling option at Grand Cayman/Owen Roberts International Airport (MWCR).

CDS began supporting limited GA operations in December 2023 and is now 100 percent operational, with its own GA-dedicated ground support equipment and full access to the airport’s GAT facilities.

“Since CDS became fully operational, we’ve significantly enhanced the experience on the ground, dramatically decreasing passenger turn times at MWCR during arrivals and departures from more than 45 minutes to just 15,” said Adolfo Aragon, Sr. Vice President, Universal Aviation. “CDS was a natural choice for us to expand, sharing our commitment to excelling in customer service, safety, and the use of advanced equipment. We stand out at MWCR as the only handler using three wing walkers for each operation. Moreover, CDS’ strong ties with local authorities help us smoothly navigate common airport challenges, from managing limited parking and slot availability to speeding up customs and immigration processes.”

CDS boasts a seasoned team of over 120 professionals and brings over 30 years of proven success in supporting commercial aviation in the Cayman Islands. Now fully licensed to accommodate business aviation flights at MWCR, CDS meets and upholds the rigorous ground handling standards set forth by Universal Aviation.

“Becoming a Universal Aviation Certified Member marks a new chapter at Cayman Dispatch Services,” said Jonathan Ebanks, Director, CDS. “We’ve heard the calls for enhanced service quality at Owen Roberts International Airport, and we’re here to answer them. We’re excited to set a new benchmark for service excellence, offering GA clients faster, more efficient, and much more personal handling solutions. Our team is ready to deliver on the promise of quality that Universal’s customers are accustomed to and meet the unique needs of business aviation operators.”
